Long delays around SSP

Published 17th Oct 2012

Roadworks around Surrey Sports Park and Royal Surrey Hospital are causing severe traffic delays.

The £4.5million scheme is to install traffic lights and a new roundabout at Egerton Road and Gill Avenue.

The improvements are being funded by Surrey County Council and the University of Surrey to help ease the flow of traffic  through this area which is an important point of access onto the A3.

Steve wrote on Twitter about the traffic on 8th October: “Stuck in the office. Traffic jam from hell outside the window.”

Those needing to get to an appointment at the hospital have been urged to leave early and allow plenty of time to travel there.
