Calls PM a “wanker” Chant advocates burning the Government Vicki Baars, NUS Vice President Union Development has sent a page of chants to student union Presidents calling for Tories and Liberal Democrats to be piled onto a bonfire and burned. Lyrics to the chant read: “Build a bonfire, build a bonfire, put the tories on the top, put the libdems in the middle and burn the f***ng lot!” Ms Baars has since apologised for sending the chants round.

An open letter published on NUS Connect’s website from Aaron Kiely, the NUS Black Students’ Officer, demanded ‘that the Editor of Leeds StudentGuardian Student Blogs   Dave Halls, President of Surrey’s Student Union, wrote an open letter in support of   It is interesting to note that the NUS then released another post on NUS Connect, from Liam Burns, President, stating that although they have a ‘no platform to Fascists’ policy, the NUS is a ‘member- led organisation’ and ‘[they] cannot and should not attempt to comprise the independence and autonomy of our members by dictating to them’.
